Apple Removes Antigay App
By Advocate.com Editors

Apple has apparently removed the antigay app the Manhattan Declaration, which called for users to fight marriage equality, from its iTunes store. The decision comes after thousands protested the company's decision to approve the Manhattan Declaration for download in the first place. Apple has been known to reject good number of gay-related mobile apps, which is part of what frustrated many gay consumers when they learned that an antigay app had been approved.

The app, which was free for download on iTunes, included a 4,700 word declaration—the Manhattan Declaration—which “speaks in defense of the sanctity of life, traditional marriage, and religious liberty,” according to its creators. It also includes a four-question survey, where users are asked, among other things, “Do you support same-sex relationships?” If you answer “yes,” you’ll be told you replied incorrectly.

The company's apparent decision to remove the app came without a statement from Apple, but the Manhattan Declaration is no longer on iTunes.

The new Repubs. in congress may not get much of  a say about SSM...hopefully the courts will take care of the issue.
I was married in California pre prop. 8 so I'm very happy that Harris won the Ca. AG race...with no one able to appeal Judge Walkers decision (hopefully), there should be no barriers for others to marry like I did.

Hi Chuck!
That's great news and I'm with ninjaboi, shocking it was there in the first place!  Inch by inch, step by step we're gaining ground.

The sanctity of marriage....... Thank goodness they removed the application. but it is really appalling that people believe this garbage in the first place... What does that mean exactly... Rush Limbaugh has been married four times, but he supports the "sanctity" of marriage ... Give me a break!  My wife and I were lucky enough to marry in California before the passage of prop 8- one day we will have the same rights as everyone else, but it's going to take time!  It seems like the closer we get, the harder the other side pushes us back.   People just need to be educated- they are afraid of what they do not understand!  Thank you for creating this site- it is people like you and Chely that will make a difference in this world!
